A Review of Progresso Steak & Homestyle Noodles Soup: 110 Calories

I am a fan of beef and noodles soups, so recently, when I spotted a can of Progresso Steak & Homestyle Noodles Soup in the canned soups section of my favorite local grocery, I could not resist it. I decided to purchase this soup, try it and write a food product review about it. Here is what I discovered!

I bought a can of Progresso Steak & Homestyle Noodles Soup for two dollars and thirty cents. Each can has two servings in it. Not a bad deal for a name brand soup. This soup has Progresso’s most tender beef in it, the can advertised. It also has beef broth, carrots, egg noodles, parsley, garlic, onion powder and many other ingredients in it. That all sounded great to me. I discovered that this soup is low fat, low cal and protein rich. It also has no artificial flavors in it. Fabulous! I could not wait to taste it!

This soup can be heated up on the stove top, in a sauce pan or in the microwave. I decided to microwave cook it. I poured the can’s contents into a large microwave safe bowl and covered, heated on high for a few minutes, uncovered, stirred and served. This soup looked wonderful and it smelled yummy. You do not need to add any water to this soup. I liked the easy open flip top lid on the can. It is nice not to need a can opener.

When I tasted Progresso Steak & Homestyle Noodles Soup, I loved it! It has a delicious and rich beef broth. It is seasoned perfectly. There are nice and big chunks of tender beef and they are scrumptious. The egg noodles are really good and indeed homestyle. Some carrots are in this soup. It could use a few more and I think some peas would be good in this soup, too. Overall, this soup is fantastic, hearty and worth the money. I rate it four stars out of five stars. I will be buying it again. It saves me time spent in the kitchen and it also saves me money. I like adding crackers to this soup, but it is also good without them.

One serving has only 110 calories in it. Wow! Just 20 of those calories are from fat. It has 2.5 grams of total fat, 0.5 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 0.5 grams of polyunsaturated fat, 1 gram of monounsaturated fat, 20 mg’s of cholesterol, 690 mg’s of sodium, 370 mg’s of potassium, 14 grams of total carbs, 1 gram of dietary fiber and 8 grams of protein. One serving of this soup provided me with twenty-five percent of my daily Vitamin A need. Awesome! This product does contain egg, wheat and soy ingredients.

I loved trying Progresso Steak & Homestyle Noodles Soup and writing a product review about it. It satisfies my beef noodle soup craving, for sure. I like to have this soup for a quick and light lunch. It adds fun to my day and leaves me guilt free, calories wise. That is always nice.
