A Review of Progresso Rich & Hearty Chicken Pot Pie Style Soup

I love chicken pot pie, so when I came across a can of Progresso Rich & Hearty Chicken Pot Pie Style Soup, I was intrigued by it. I decided to buy it, try it and write a product review all about it. Here is what I discovered!

I purchased a can of Progresso Rich & Hearty Chicken Pot Pie Style Soup for a bit over two dollars. Each can has two servings in it. I discovered that this soup has no artificial flavors in it. It is also low in saturated fat. I liked that fact! This soup has chicken broth, potatoes, carrots, cooked white meat chicken chunks, peas, celery, garlic, onion powder, honey, dried egg yolk and many other ingredients in it. That all sounded good to me. I could not wait to taste it!

This soup is perfect for microwave cooking, but you can also heat it up in a sauce pan on the stove top. I decided to microwave it. I poured the contents of the can into a large microwave safe bowl, covered, heated on high for a few minutes, uncovered, stirred well and served. This soup smelled good and it looked great. When I tasted it, I was pleased. It does have a rich and creamy texture. It has lots of potatoes in it. While peas, celery and carrots are there, I did want more of them, I must admit. The white meat chicken chunks are good and tender. Overall, this soup is a winner and I probably would buy it again. I rate Progresso Rich & Hearty Chicken Pot Pie Style Soup four stars out of five stars. It is hearty. I like to put crackers in this soup. It gives it that true chicken pot pie touch. The potatoes do dominate this dish. You do not add any water to this soup

One serving of this soup has 140 calories in it. Not bad. Only 40 of those calories are from fat. One serving has 4 grams of total fat, 1 gram of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 1 gram of polyunsaturated fat, 2 grams of monounsaturated fat, 10 mg’s of cholesterol, 770 mg’s of sodium, 370 mg’s of potassium, 19 grams of total carbs, 2 grams of dietary fiber, 2 grams of sugars and 7 grams of protein. This soup has a nice amount of vitamin A in it. This product does contain milk, wheat, soy and egg ingredients. I liked the easy open flip top on this soup. A nice touch.

I enjoyed trying Progresso Rich & Hearty Chicken Pot Pie Style Soup and writing this product review all about it. It is affordable, tasty and filling. It could be better, but it is a nice and quick lunch item for me. For more information about this and other Progresso brand food products, you can visit the ProgressoSoup.com website.
