A Review of Marie Callender’s Country Fried Pork Chop Meal

Being a big fan of country fried pork chops, I could not resist Marie Callender’s Country Fried Pork Chop Meal when I came across it in the frozen dinners section of my favorite grocery store. I decided to purchase it, try it and write a product review all about it. Here is what I discovered!

I purchased Marie Callender’s Country Fried Pork Chop Meal for a bit under four dollars. Yes, this single serving hearty frozen meal is a bit pricey, but Marie Callender is a brand name that I trust and love. This dinner has a large country fried chopped and breaded formed pork chop patty, cheddar cheese bacon mashed potatoes, a veggie medley of green beans, carrots and whole kernel corn and a large serving of country style creamed gravy. All of that sounded fabulous to me. I love country cooking especially if I do not have to cook it from scratch. I could not wait to try this meal!

This dinner is special and I knew that when I opened the box. The gravy is in a separate pouch. I noticed right away that it was a large amount of gravy. I was delighted! This meal is perfect for microwave cooking and that is how I decided to cook it. I cut a slit in the film cover over the veggies and a small slit in the gravy pouch. I placed the gravy pack on top of the pork and cooked on high for four minutes. I uncovered, stirred the potatoes, rotated the pork patty, re covered and placed the gravy pouch back on top of the dinner. I continued cooking on high for four more minutes and let this dinner stand in my microwave for two minutes before removing and serving. This meal smelled fantastic and it looked great!

I uncovered my dinner and opened the gravy pack, then poured it over my pork chop and mashed potatoes. When I tasted Marie Callender’s Country Fried Pork Chop Meal, I was thrilled. The pork chop is tender, well seasoned and perfectly breaded. It was delicious! The gravy is fabulous and there is so much of it. I was in gravy lover’s heaven. The mashed potatoes with cheddar cheese and bacon bits were good. Their good flavor kind of gets lost in the country gravy but, overall, this potato side dish is wonderful. It tastes homemade. The veggie medley was fresh tasting and very enjoyable. I rate this country style meal five stars out of five stars. It is hearty, filling and so tasty. I will be buying this one again. It is well worth the money that I spent on it.
