I am a fan of many Campbell’s brand food products. When I came across a large can of Campbell’s Chunky Steak and Potato Soup in the canned soup section of my local grocery store, I was delighted. This soup looked really meaty! I decided to purchase it, try it out and write a product review about the experience. Here is what I discovered!
One can of Campbell’s Chunky Steak and Potato Soup costs around two dollars and thirty cents. Not a bad price. Each can has two serving in it. This soup is made with lean meat. I liked that healthy fact. It has large chunks of potatoes and seasoned beef, along with mushrooms, beef stock, burgundy wine and tomato paste in it, among other ingredients. That all sounded very good to me. This soup looked hearty. I could not wait to taste it!
I discovered that this soup has twenty percent of my daily veggie need in it. Awesome. It is also low in fat and low in cholesterol. It is a great source of protein. This soup has an easy open flip top lid. It is perfect for microwave cooking and that is how I chose to prepare it. You do not add any water to this soup. I poured it into a large microwave safe bowl, covered and heated on high for a few minutes. I let it sit in my microwave for one minute then uncovered, stirred and served. This soup smelled wonderful!
When I tasted Campbell’s Chunky Steak and Potato Soup, I loved it! The broth is rich, beefy and flavorful. The beef is delicious. Very tender. The potatoes are great and there is plenty of everything in this chunky soup. The mushrooms really make this dish special. My only complaint with this product is it’s saltiness. There is way too much sodium in it and it does not need it. I rate this soup four and one half stars out of five stars. I probably will buy it again, but I would like to see a lower sodium form of this dish available. The motto for this soup is that it is a soup that eats like a meal and in this case, those words are very true. I was impressed by this product. It is a winner. Beef soup lovers will love it.
One serving has only 120 calories. Just 20 of those calories are from fat. Amazing! It has 2 grams of total fat, 0.5 grams of saturated fat, wow, 0 grams of trans fat, 0.5 grams of polyunsaturated fat, 0.5 grams of monounsaturated fat, 15 mg’s of cholesterol, nice, 890 mg’s of sodium, yikes, 18 grams of total carbs, 3 grams of dietary fiber, 1 gram of sugars and 7 grams of protein. I did notice that this soup has a small amount of iron in it.
I enjoyed trying Campbell’s Chunky Steak and Potato Soup and writing a product review about it. It gives me a tasty and hearty quick lunch item to fix. It is also affordable. For more information, you can visit the chunky.com website.
