A Giant Red Stuffed Dog that Barks: Huge Clifford Plush Dog Review

by mud mosh

My daughter went through a red phrase, only wanting to wear red clothing, to pick only red flowers, to eat only red foods, to read only red books, and to play only with red toys. So that is how we ended up with approximately 19,870 Clifford toys and books. Yes, Clifford was her favorite cartoon at the time. I do not care to recall the horrific day that she noticed a shelving full, top to bottom, of Target Bullseye dogs. That was bad. She insisted on carrying them ALL home, every single last one of them. (Only one ended up in the cart and in our home.) She still has a fondness for the color red, but has since went through a yellow phase (can you say Tweety bird?).

This was another Clifford which my daughter begged for; she actually ran over to him and sat on him until I said okay, we can bring him home to join our other 19,869 Cliffords. I mean, what is one more? This one is two feet long and really barks! Not just a plush animal, he will talk to your child in dog speak! Press his paw and hear three different barks. He weighs a little over three pounds. Clifford: 28″ Barking Floppy Plush is in a crouching, lying position. Same long ears, big paws, kind smile, and three pieces of yarn for hair on top of his head that we all remember from Clifford the cartoon. This stuffed animal comes with a yellow bone in his mouth. He is so soft and cuddly, perfect for any child’s bed. My daughter who is sensitive to sounds had no issues with this toy, but as I said, she has a thing for red.

All kids love this giant, red dog. They love to cuddle with him and read, or just wrestle with him. He is in perfect condition and we have had him for a few years now. This plush toy is surface washable only. He has had a lot of loving over the years and is in perfect red shape and still loved by all. Yes, we are running out of room from all the giant stuffed animals living in my daughter’s room!! The noise level on this toy is not too loud, there is no volume control but you will not need it for this toy. My daughter still uses him as a backrest when reading or watching television, snuggling at bedtime, and pretend play.

As all stuffed animals and dolls, I pulled at his eyes and other features to make sure no small pieces could become dislodged and find themselves in my daughter’s mouth; I did not find any piece on him that could come off. They sell for around $30 and I do think that they are worth the price if you count all the loving that he has gotten over the years. The price is high but you are getting one giant red dog that barks!
