It’s week three on the Bachelorette. This week there will be one group date and two one-on-one dates.
Ben C. Gets Flashed
Apparently Ben C. made an impression last week when he told Ashley he was jealous of the dance date, because he loves to dance. This week, she set up a date to make him dance. I guess the guys have to watch what they say to this spunky bachelorette. She’ll make them prove their words. Go Ashley!
Ashley and Ben C. started their date in a dance studio, where she taught him some moves. Afterward, she took him to a park. He didn’t know it, but she had a flash mob planned for him. A flash mob is a group of people that assemble in a very public place and dance a choreographed routine. She talked him into doing the dance that she taught him earlier. He agreed and the two of them started dancing. Music began blaring and 100 people joined them. He was shocked, but a good sport and kept dancing. After Ben was flashed, Far East Movement, the band that sang the song they danced to, began playing. They gave a spectacular concert. The crowd started screaming, “Kiss!” Ashley stepped up and kissed him.
During dinner, Ben revealed why he would be a perfect match for Tenley. He’s a hopeless romantic who wants a fairy tale relationship. Ashley gave him the rose and kissed him.
The Date Card
The date card arrived for the group date. Names on it: Ames, Ben F., Blake, Jeff, Lucas, Nick, Chris D., Ryan, William, and Bentley.
Phantom of the Opera music began playing, so we know that something with the Masked Man was about to happen.
Ashley showed up at the bachelor mansion for their group date, and the Masked Man asked if he could speak to her. He revealed his mask, but she didn’t look too thrilled. She didn’t scream, “Put it back on!” However, she did say he was older than she thought he would be. He’s cute, but I get the feeling he’s not her type. I guess for now on, I have to call him Jeff. I wonder how long he’ll be around for me to bother learning his name.
Group Date- “Make Me Laugh”
Ashley took the guys to a comedy club and introduced them to a comedienne, Jeff Ross who is known for roasting celebrities. He told them roasting comes from a place of love and affection, and let them know they would be roasting Ashley in front of a sold out house. The last thing he reminded them was that they only roast the ones they love. I wonder if that was what Bentley had on his mind when he was writing his jokes about Ashley.
Lucas- He roasted the guys and didn’t say anything about Ashley.
Ryan P- He roasted Bentley, but didn’t really make anyone laugh.
Ames- He had a mask and roasted the Masked Man. I mean Jeff. It was funny.
Blake- He roasted the other bachelors. He was funny.
Masked Man/Jeff- He roasted Ashley about her small boobs.
Nick- He roasted William and then picked on Ashley about her flat chest. She laughed and thought it was great.
Ben F.- He roasted Ashley for being the 3rd runner up from last season. I’m going to laugh if he’s 3rd runner up this season.
Chris- He roasted Ashley about being a recycled bachelorette.
Bentley- For all of his big talk in private interviews, he whimped out when he had his chance to roast her. He told Ashley that 60% of the men were there for the wrong reason, because 60% of men in America were boob guys, but he thought her ass made up for it.
William- He’s the funny one in the group and wants to be a professional comedienne. Ashley was looking forward to his roast, since he knows her so well. He roasted Ashley hardcore. He said he thought it was going to be Emily or Chantal, but who gives a bleep about Ashley.
Ashley left the roast in tears. Bentley found her that way and wanted to “mess with her head.” She was honest with him, and told him her biggest fear was that the bachelors were hoping it was Emily. Ironically, William is the one who said it, but Bentley was the one who meant it. Yet, she shared her insecurities with Bentley, who wanted it to be Emily, and he’s the one who comforted her. You have to love irony. I guess Ashley doesn’t at this moment. In fact, I’d love to hear her honest opinion after seeing this episode.
That night, Ashley had an open and honest talk with the bachelors about them wanting her to be the bachelorette. William pulled her aside and was honest with her about wanting to be funny and make people laugh. He offered to pack and leave, because he felt so bad about the way he made her feel. He told her to go talk to the other bachelors and let them lift her spirits. She walked away from him, and he left the club.
In a personal interview, she said he only wants him to comfort him, but he just wanted to leave. She was sad. He was shown running away.
No one was able to comfort Ashley. Finally, Ryan stepped up and told her what she needed to hear'”she looked gorgeous and she was the one he wanted there. They shared a sweet kiss.
Ashley pulled Bentley aside and told him about the text messages she received about him from Michelle Money. She let him know that she was informed that he was only there to promote something and would only be there for a couple of weeks, and then leave on his own. He defended himself, and she believed him. She put her head on his lap and he stroked her hair. In a personal interview, she said she trusted him and felt safe with him.
Ashley gave the rose to Ryan during the group date.
The Date Card
JP- “There’s No Place Like Home.”
The next day, Bentley was shown packing. He said it wasn’t about his daughter, but he wasn’t into Ashley. He told the guys that he was leaving because he missed his daughter. He said Ashley was more into him than anyone else. He said he played everyone, and that’s something that hasn’t been done before. His mother must be proud of his accomplishment. He promised to make Ashley cry. He went to talk to Ashley before he left.
First thing, he asked her for a hug. He whimped out again and told her he wanted to leave for his daughter. She wanted to bring his daughter there. He played it up and held her tight. I hope the show doesn’t recycle the Ed plot this season. She said she pictured him at the end and cried a lot. He complained about her non-stop crying in a private interview. There was a lot of cuddling and kissing before he left. He also asked her if he could call her. I wouldn’t be surprised if he made up this whole story just to make his name known. If he did, it certainly gave him the air time he desired.
Ashley crawled into bed crying.
That night, JP arrived at the bachelorette mansion with flowers. She admitted she wasn’t in the mood for a date, but didn’t want to let JP down.
They had the sweetest date in front of the fireplace. They sat there and talked, and he made her smile again.
She told him she wanted to put on sweat pants, and get cozy, and comfy. He agreed and they changed. They continued with the sweetest date ever, talking in front of the fireplace. She gave him the rose. She said it was her best kiss and that he kisses better than Bentley. I hope Bentley sees this episode! Take that, Bentley!
Rose Ceremony Cocktail Party- or Not
Ashley arrived heartbroken, but looked gorgeous in a glittery, silver dress. She talked a lot about Bentley and how he was her guy. She said last week, she knew her husband was at the rose ceremony, but she can’t say that this week.
Chris Harrison spoke to her about Bentley. He suggested it was the idea of Bentley that she liked, more than the man, after she said she loved him. She admitted there was no closure and she needed closure. Uh-oh, he’s coming back at some point in the show. Ick, another Ed storyline. Can’t the writers come up with something different?
Ashley declined a cocktail party.
Rose Ceremony
Men That Received Roses- Constantine, West, Mickey, Ben F., Blake, Nick, Ames, Lucas, and William.
Booted- Masked Man (I didn’t have to learn his name!) and Chris.
Chris- He was stunned that he was eliminated when William is the one who roasted her.
Masked Man- He threw the mask in the fireplace.
