Cinderella is one of the first Disney princess films. Of course, it wasn’t known as a Disney princess film until the 2000s when Disney started naming the princesses. However, it was known that it was a Disney film that had a princess. Cinderella is a fun movie, especially as almost everyone five years or older knows the basic story, even if they haven’t seen the movie. It can also be fun to know facts about the movie.
The Film Does Not Have a Prince Charming
Everybody assumes that Cinderella has a Prince Charming. It is what the character is called in lists of characters. However, the movie, Cinderella , never has a Prince Charming. The prince is never called Prince Charming. His name is also never mentioned.
Cinderella Contains a Hidden Mickey
It is normal for Disney movies to contain a hidden Mickey. Cinderella has a hidden Mickey. It can be found in the bubbles when Cinderella sings “Sing, Sweet Nightingale,” as three of them come together to form Mickey’s face.
The Proclamation Is Not Gibberish
Many times in movies, proclamations or contracts will seem to make sense if they can be read, but then will end up being squiggly lines or gibberish as it cannot be read. In the movie, Cinderella , the proclamation on the royal gate makes sense. It says, “”All loyal subjects of his Imperial Majesty are hereby notified by royal proclamation that in regard to a certain glass slipper, it is upon this day decreed that a quest be instituted throughout the length and breadth of our domain. The sole and express purpose of said quest is as follows to wit: That every single maiden in our beloved Kingdom shall try upon her foot this aforementioned slipper of glass, and should one be found whose foot shall properly fit said slipper, such maiden will be acclaimed the subject of this search and the one and only true love of his Royal Highness, our noble Prince. And said Royal Highness will humbly request the hand of said maiden in marriage to rule with him over all the Land as Royal Princess and future Queen.”
Walt Disney Loved the Animation
Cinderella contains Walt Disney’s favorite piece of animation. Of course, Disney saw many animations and films and liked many of them. However, his favorite piece of animation was when Cinderella’s tattered dress turns into a white ball gown.
The Movie, Cinderella, Could Have Ended Disney
When Cinderella was released, Disney did not have a hit movie since Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs . If Cinderella failed, the Disney franchise would have gone bankrupt and closed. However, Cinderella was a hit and the Disney franchise continued.
