4 Cities You Might Reconsider Living In

What would it be like if we lived in the perfect city? A city with no crime, where jobs are abundant and everyone can afford to buy a house. This would only happen in our dreams.

Why are cities all around the United States in such horrible condition? There are cities that have very high crime rates and are unsafe to live in. There are cities that don’t have enough jobs available that will support individuals and families. If there are not any jobs then how can these cities expect individuals and families to settle down when they can’t afford to rent or buy a house.

Here are 4 cities that you might want to think twice about before living in them.

1. Los Angeles, California – has a very high population of almost 3,900,000. This would explain the somewhat high crime rate that this city has. Some parts of Los Angeles have less crime then others. You need to do some research and find out which communities within Los Angeles have the least amount of crime. Since Los Angeles is so big another serious problem is traffic. Los Angeles is one of the cities with the worst traffic problems. Learning how to use surface streets will save you time and help keep you off the freeway. The last problem to consider is the smog that Los Angeles has. The smog can create a lot of health problems such as asthma. coughing, bronchitis and pneumonia.

2. Newark, New Jersey – has a population of almost 300,000. Newark is a large city and does have it’s share of crime which could be considered high at times. There is a lot of poverty in Newark which could help fuel the violence. There is a need for jobs which would help the individuals and families that are at poverty level. As with any city Newark has good areas to live in. You just need to find out which areas are the best before you and your family.

3. Detroit, Michigan – has a very high population of almost 900,000. Detroit is one of the worst cities to live in because of the crime rate and the unemployment rate. Both are very high. Jobs need to become available so that the citizens of Detroit can support themselves and their families. If more people are working that just might cut down on crime. It won’t stop crime but it will help put more unemployed people to work. Every city has it’s good areas and bad areas to live in. Do research before making a move to Detroit and make sure the area you want to live in is safe.

4. Phoenix, Arizona – has a very high population of almost 1,600,000. Phoenix has some serious problems in large part to the population. Phoenix has very bad air pollution which is caused by their freeways and other air polluting facilities. This air pollution can cause health problems which can be anything from asthma to pneumonia. Jobs are limited in Phoenix which is causing unemployment rates to go up. This is also causing a large increase in foreclosures. Phoenix has crime as does all cities but their one of the cities that doesn’t have a really high crime rate. As with any city you would like to live in make sure to do research before you commit yourself to a certain city or area.

These are only a few of the cities around the United States that are struggling with problems. Every city has problems and finding a city that doesn’t is going to be impossible. There is not a perfect city anywhere.

Doing research is very important. You need to make sure the city or community you want to live in is going to be safe for you and your family. Taking sometime out of your day to find what works for your family will make you happier in the long run. It’s always better to be safe then sorry.
