2011 Summer Music Festivals in Milwaukee

Milwaukee is home to one of the largest summer music festivals in the world, in addition to other smaller music events that take place around the city. There is much to do throughout the summer that is great for people of all ages and backgrounds, and can fit a variety of budgets.

Summerfest
Summerfest attracts people from all over due to its variety of music and events that take place on the Summerfest grounds. This year, Summerfest runs from June 29th – July 10th, omitting July 4th. It is open from noon to midnight, and features a variety of acts throughout the day and evening. Britney Spears, Kanye West, Toby Keith, Katy Perry, and Sugarland are a few of the big-name acts performing at the Marcus Amphitheater throughout the festival.

There are a lot of well known bands that will be playing at many of the other stages as well. Some of these bands or singers are Hall and Oates, Meat Loaf, Owl City, REO Speedwagon, Styx, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Wiz Khalifa, Peter Frampton, Hinder, and Ben Harper. These are just a few of the featured acts, and there are many more local and well known bands that will be performing.

For adults and children over the age of ten, tickets are $8 on weekdays before 4pm, and $15 after 4pm and on weekends. Seniors and children under 10 are $3 at any time, and children under 2 are free. Tickets for shows at the Marcus Amphitheater are purchased separately from Ticketmaster. For more information, please visit the Summerfest website for details.

It features two stages that will have five bands play on each. The featured bands this year are Kings Go Forth and Fever Marlene.
