2011 Summer Concerts in the Raleigh-Durham Area of North Carolina

Concerts are always a fun event the family can attend together. Over 50 singers and bands are lined up to perform in the Triangle area this summer. Here are a few of the concerts the family will not want to miss.

Tim McGraw and The Band Perry

On Friday, July 8, 2011 Tim McGraw and The Band Perry will grace the stage at the Time Warner Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek. This is an outdoor amphitheater, so be sure to bring a lawn chair and blanket. There are plenty of places to buy food: coolers and outside food are not permitted past the gate. If you plan to tailgate before the concert, arrive a couple of hours before the concert. The show starts at 7:00 pm. Don’t miss the opportunity for you and your family to see award-winning country singer Tim McGraw, and The Band Perry live.

Journey, Foreigner, and Night Ranger

Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 7:00 pm, Journey along with guests Foreigner, and Night Ranger are set to perform at the Timer Warner Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek. All three performance groups are well known for their rock hits. This is a family friendly outdoor concert, and tickets can be purchased at TicketMaster.

Kenny Chesney

Throw on your cowboy hats for this country singer’s summer concert. Hit singer Kenny Chesney will perform at the Time Warner Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek this summer. Mark your calendars for August 5, 2011. The concert starts at 7:00 pm. Remember, the Time Warner Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek is an outdoor amphitheater so dress accordingly and don’t forget your lawn chairs.

Family Fun Concert

Bookmarked! 2011 is hosting a family fun concert on Sunday, May 15 from 2-5 pm at Fred Fletcher Park in Raleigh. Mommie and other family friendly music groups will perform. Ira David Wood III from Theatre in the Park and Betsy from PBS Kids’ Betsy’s Kindergarten Adventures will also make an appearance. The Family Fun Concert is a free event, but donations are always appreciated. Bring a lawn chair, snacks, and blanket because it’s an outdoor event.

Music on Main Summer Concert Series

Music on Main is a concert series held every Saturday from April 23rd to May 21st at The Streets of Southpoint, a two-story mall in Durham. After a long day of shopping, the family can join the crowd from 6-8:45 pm for light jazz, adult contemporary, and beach music performances. North Tower, Coconut Groove Band, Legends of Beach, The Dues, and Risse are the groups set to perform.
